If you have a headache for a long time, can it be migraine?

 MIGRAINE





Migraine is a common cause of headache. Headaches or migraines are more common in women than in men. Statistically, about 10 out of 100 people get migraines, which is about 10%.


Symptoms :

  • Excessive pain in one side of the head. And this pain lasts for 4-72 hours. Loud sound, bright light, physical activity, movement can increase the pain.
  • Dizziness
  • Lose of Appetite
  • Vomiting
  • Conjuctival injection 
  • Ralsed pulse rate
  • Ralsed BP
  • Migraine AURA

Causes

  • 70% of people develop migraine due to their previous history.
  • Tiredness
  • Lack of sleep 
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Strenuous exerice
  • Dehydration 
  • Missed Meals
  • Tea,Coffe,Alcohol,Red wine,Citrus Fruits 
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Bright light
  • Loud noise
  • strong smell
  • Changes in climate
  • Watching TV screen
  • In women, migraine occurs 2 days before and 3 days after the period.


Investigation :

  • MRI of Head
  • CT sacn of head
  • Blood Report : CRP,ESR


Treatment :

  • Acute Migraine attack : Triptans,Ditans,Ergot Alkaloids,Nsaids
  • Preventive Migraine Attack : Anti-Epileptics,Beta Blockers,Triptans,Anti Depressants
